The wood is strong enough for indoor but I don’t think it would last long outside in the elements. I didn’t use the roofing material that came with it since I have it inside the house. Nice and large but would not use for more than two cats. Very easy to assemble. The stainless steel bottom is somewhat thin. Was hoping for a heavier pan. However, the stainless steel will prevent the odor that occurs with plastic bottoms. While it does help with the scatter of litter, some litter will still come out the front opening. I love how open it is. I kind of wish this one came with the step. Im not sure if the cats would use it, though. I already have one, and it has the front opening. My cats are both good size. This ones a little bit easier. I think for cats to go in and out of. Im not sure how long the bottom piece will last as it seems to be more material than hard plastic. I have had this now for about a month and I love it. I plan on getting another one and replacing the other one as they use this one most often. The other is the typical small opening and the waste draw is small and always needs to be adjusted as nothing falls forward and I can't find the right size bags, no company to order supplies from..
