The rug if light weight so was easy to handle and put down even though it was a 9x12. I knew it was low pile but I’d actually say it’s no pile - and the pattern appears more “stamped” on then woven. The rug is incredibly soft and lays completely flat right out of the box. We're considering adding a pad underneath for extra comfort when sitting on the floor and for added noise absorption in our media room — but that's purely a bonus, not a necessity.
