I love the color--a teal-ish blue--a little darker--that looks terrific with my china. Ordinarily, I wouldn't be attracted to this pattern because, when closely examined, it has a quirky little metal element on the side that signals "industrial." Raised in Los Angeles, California, D’Alessandro was the youngest of three brothers. When art competition was a form of play for the brothers, it later grew into his obsession. D’Alessandro attended the Art Institute of California where he explored mixing mediums as well as digital. He also attended Illustration, Sculpting, and Fine Art workshops in Fullerton Ca. After spending long periods studying different techniques, D’Alessandro's art became increasingly influenced by artists from the early 1900s. During D’Alessandro’s studies, he painted many different themes. He painted with restless intensity, often painting from morning until night. D’Alessandro was able to indulge his earliest artistic preferences for people, nature, architecture, and landscapes in his illustration and personal pieces. He also painted family, friends, and gardens. He has done commissioned work for a variety of clients in music, publishing, and editorial. His work has been exhibited in numerous private and public collections.

The Passageway Wall Sconce has so many layered details that exude texture, it is a design to study: The wall plate, central ring, and cup that holds the frosted glass globe are warm in a dorado gold finish; the rope-wrapped, pear-shaped element so cleverly dangles from the stem affixed to the wall plate; and the bottom finial unscrews to release one arm so that the glass globe can be removed to change the bulb. This rope wall sconce, designed by Clarence Mallari, will be a perfect choice for beachside condos and lakeside homes.

Achieving a traditional lantern shape entirely from wicker is a feat, one that was beautifully realized when artisans wove the Wanstead lantern from natural material. Both the thin and thick ribs intermingling to create the wicker lantern have been bleached to lighten the design. The vanilla finish on the hardware enhances the airiness of the lantern's profile.
