Glass takes center stage in this exquisite flush mount. The round shade is made of a thick piece of hand-blown Piastra glass, each with a unique, opaque Blonchino at the center. The Babylon Chandelier has a profile shaped like an elegant bowl created by curving wrought iron rods in a contemporary gold leaf finish. The tapering stems are fitted with spikey leaves made of green glass, which have been cut from recycled wine bottles. These individually placed accents give the chandelier a dynamic, wind-swept appearance, blending sustainable materials with sculptural detail. Achieving a traditional lantern shape entirely from wicker is a feat, one that was beautifully realized when artisans wove the Wanstead lantern from natural material. Both the thin and thick ribs intermingling to create the wicker lantern have been bleached to lighten the design. The vanilla finish on the hardware enhances the airiness of the lantern's profile.
