I purchased the LG LDTS5552S dishwasher and have experienced a persistent chemical odor since the beginning of ownership. The smell is difficult to describe precisely, but it resembles heated rubber, vinyl, petroleum products, or synthetic plastic. The odor becomes stronger as the dishwasher heats up and appears to be emitted from the lower vent area. The problem occurs even during normal operation without using the High Temp or Extra Dry settings. Over the past year I have tried numerous troubleshooting steps, including cleaning the filters repeatedly, running cycles without detergent, using dishwasher cleaning cycles, and removing additional plastic accessories from inside the machine. None of these actions resolved the issue. The dishes themselves do not retain the odor, but the heated air emitted by the dishwasher does. The smell is strong enough to travel beyond the kitchen and can sometimes be noticed on the second floor of the house. After more than a year of trying to live with this issue, I have stopped using the dishwasher altogether and returned to washing dishes by hand because I am not comfortable having my family continuously exposed to the odor. What concerns me most is that this odor appears whenever the appliance is heated, suggesting that materials inside the unit may be releasing volatile compounds into the air. I do not know whether LG has evaluated the long-term impact of breathing these emissions during routine daily use, but I believe this is a legitimate concern that deserves attention. I am disappointed because otherwise the dishwasher performs well. If LG is aware of this issue or has a solution, I would genuinely appreciate a response. If I could change anything, it would be to make it more easy to work friendly. My pans do not come clean, the food is off but the stain rings are on sides and bottom. I absolutely love this Jonathan Adler beach towel and, I suspect, it will quickly become my favorite summer beach towel. The first thing you notice is the quality of the fabric. It isn’t too thick or too thin. The cotton is soft against the skin and it will be absorbent without taking forever to dry in the sun. The design is exactly what you would expect from the Jonathan Adler brand. The geometric patterns are bold and sophisticated and the colors are even more vibrant in person than they appear in the website photos. The shades of blue and green are rich and saturated. I have no reason to believe they will fade in the washer or after multiple trips to the beach. One of my favorite features is the generous size. It is large enough to fully cover a standard lounge chair or to provide plenty of space for stretching out on the sand. It is well made with sturdy edges that will not fray. I suspect I will get compliments on the unique style this summer. It definitely brings a touch of high end boutique flair.
