Being able to schedule the unit to turn on has been a game changer. I like the night mode, especially since the screen turns off and it slowly tapers off how cool it is. It did startle us the first night because it makes a bit of a noise compared to a larger unit we have when on auto mode. The louver or where the air discharges moves up and down if you'd like and being able to have it close when the unit is off is nice. This is such an upgrade from our 10,000 BTU portable air conditioner. We purchased this Danby because our old a/c unit started blowing hot air. After checking to see if it needed draining, filter cleaning, checking the hose for blockages, etc., we realized it was likely not worth trying to get it repaired. We've bought Danby products before but never a/c units. So far, it's doing a great job. We have it set up in our living room, which counts as two rooms if we were to carpet it and so far, it's keeping the space nice and cool. We live in an apartment, so this works really well. The true test will be how it lasts during some of the summer's longer heat waves, but as we're experiencing mini heat waves right now (that last maybe 2-3 days), I'm happy to say that it's doing a decent job. Oh, and it's super quiet. Our other a/c unit that we have in the bedroom runs a lot louder than this one and is maybe only a year old. I can’t say enough about this dehumidifier. It’s extremely well made. It performs better than expected and has replaced two 70 pint dehumidifiers in a very humid indoor space. The air conditioner itself is cooling nicely the patio door kit does not work the exhaust attaches way at the top like 78 inches high and the exhaust hose doesn't reach putting the air conditioner with casters on a 18 inch platform was not a good idea so I made my own patio door template out of corrugated plastic see picture attached. I’ve had it for two summers now and got it the summer in Portland when it was over 100. I works okay but it has to be in a smaller inclosed room to feel cold. When I turned the fan on it was not too humid but it's also early in the day. Towards the afternoon when it is hotter the humidity will go up.
