Inspired by our jaunts overseas where oil drums in varying stages of deterioration greeted us at every turn, we created our replicas of the discs carved from the tops (or bottoms) as edgy decorative elements. Though the patina we achieved a finish that may convince you that these are made of metal, the cast oil drum wall discs, which are packaged as 4 pieces, are made of composite that our artisans made to look jagged like real aging metal would. I guess the protection the film provides during transit is worth it. I'll get around to removing the film, but ended up doing the install with most of the protective film still on there.. Michelle. This was definitely worth the wait! This wainscoting was so easy to install, it and was the perfect accent piece for this end wall. I love that it did not need to be nailed onto the wall, so filling nail holes and repainting was not needed. We used a common construction adhesive.
