Bought this for my sphynx cat who can’t stay outside for long periods of time but I want to let him get some fresh air! Having the solid weatherproof roof helps block any sunlight and keeps him shaded. The size and everything is great because he’s a lounge cat he isn’t super active and really uses this to lay and listen to the birds and get fresh air. It looks nice and is perfect for what I need! But the screws for the box need to be longer. I had two come out within minutes of putting them in. This cat tower is awesome. I was looking forward to putting this together but the husband beat me to it. It only took him a hours. This included a couple redos because, as others mentioned, the picture instructions are not straight forward. He also used better tools than the wrench it comes with. I would like to say this item is a bit smaller than I had anticipated but that's on me for not doing proper measurements before purchasing. Now with that being said, having this item outside, please keep in mind your environment for your pet. If it's in a high precipitation area it is made of wood so just be mindful of the material. Other than that I would say this item is what it says and if I can have my pet outside safely with me enjoying the weather without worry, I would hope that you would be able to as well. This was a replacement for one that lasted 5 years (including midwest winters)... my 2 cats love hanging out in this. Assembly takes some time and some mechanical skills... a drill is helpful for screws. I live in a city and this is on a 4th floor balcony... they love sitting/napping in this from spring to fall and chirping at birds and squirrels in a nearby tree, and watching the action in my Chicago alley... lots of good people and pet viewing from the safety of the balcony catio!.
