We wanted to create the small patio into an area of comfort and relaxation. The fountain completed our dream. The fountain has a calming trinkle and the color of the slate draw your eyes to it's beauty. The assembly was easy and everything was together and being enjoyed within an afternoon. We didn't realize the light had a separate cord with a switch, so ensure you plan for this when deciding where you want to place the fountain. To hide extra cord length I used command strips and attached the cord and light switch to the back of the fountain. It was an easy fix that I am glad I used. Also, the directions tell you to have support for the back of the fountain (the slate is heavy and could be blown over with high winds). We have ours against a fence so this wasn't an issue but I feel that it is important to know before buying this. Although we planned for this area to be for extra seating, with the beauty and sound of the fountain, it has become our favorite place to relax after work, or entertain guests. It's very nice, but unfortunately, I may not keep it if we cannot get the pump to be quieter, and if we cannot get it to stand straight up Thankfully, they are going to send another unit, hoping it will be much better... Finally got the replacement, and this water pump that sits in the dry unit base to move the 12 gallons of distilled water that we bought and poured in, is quieter so we can appreciate the water sounds more; but fyi the pump is still not totally quiet; we will try to put in our own insulation. These new galaxy fountains are truly amazing! What you can't see are the beautiful iridescent and metallic colors that are in abundance in these panels. In almost any kind of light, they scintillate. And sound! They sound like a brook, or a stream, and a bit like rain. It's a very tranquil sound, not too quiet, and not Niagara. Please take particular note of the backlighting that you see on some of the fountains (the little stars or glow fireflies). These optional ''stars'' are a new high-tech strand of rice lights that put out virtually no heat, are literally the size of grains of rice, and last for a long, long time.

With that said, you can see I placed mine on my patio in a space where I can hear the sound of the water flowing outside, and even inside with the screen door open. This fountain is all metal, easy to assemble, looks great, sounds loudly incredible and for the price I can honestly say it’s the best available on Wayfair. I placed 7lbs of 1” polished rocks around the base to give the fountain a “finished” look. If you live in the desert Southwest (like Las Vegas) be prepared to refill the five gallon bucket reservoir daily as it moves a lot of water, but that’s an easy routine to get into, and it’s certainly worth it to anyone who enjoys the relaxing sound of a trickling fountain..
