But it's the exact size I need and has extra deep shelves which I also need ...so I decided to take a chance on it. It arrived today and I'm very happy with it. This bookcase is proudly constructed in the USA from a combination of solid oak face frames, oak veneer plywood shelves, side tops and bottoms, and thick plywood backing. You can be sure this bookcase will last you throughout the years. No particle board can be found in this. As in most of our products, they ship fully assembled.

Sturdy. Nice design. Finish is not bad. Construction is square and true. A couple of issues: side vertical wood slats not sanded on all sides. In general, the level of finish is a bit rustic, to use a generous term. The hardware -- hinges, door latches -- is not of the quality that I'd expect for this price. Make sure to remember that there is no assembly required for this product and is available in Walnut and Michael's Cherry stain.

We did have to replace the broken magnetic door latches and there was minor damage to the back corner, but nothing noticeable. It looks like it happened before delivery transport since it was padded so well. Its a beautiful piece. Its so hard to find solid wood furniture. Well probably get another one we have our eye on!.
