It doesn't take up room underneath the cabinet either. *There's a crimp piece required. The metal one didn't fit properly, and they provided a plastic one also which worked, but barely.. I did not end up keeping this item but for what it does, it works perfectly. My wife preferred to use a grate on the garbage disposal side so having this stopper was more of a hindrance vs a help. The instant hot water dispenser is the greatest kitchen invention of the century! However, you should consider two things: 1) you can get a filter so that the hot water is filtered -if you drink filtered water normally, your hot water should also be filtered! 2) if you get a filter, then you might want to get a dispenser that dispenses both hot OR cold.
