This product is a replacement for the 6kw unit that i had for 10 years. I actually don't have a use for the lights and speakers as my shower is already done. Not very happy with the programmability of the unit. You can only run the unit in 30 min increments. So if it takes 15 minutes to get up to temp you have to run it for another 30 + 15 remaining from the preheat. Maybe I'll find a way to not have to add 30 min. I had wanted a comfortmeter for a while. Essentially 2 gauges in 1 with the added bonus of a declared comfort zone in the area where the needles cross. I have a number of new and vintage "ships" barometers and clocks. The brands I tend to buy don't make these. The traditional marine brands are pricey, even used. This brand is new to me. Priced new at less than used ones that I am familiar with the brand. While this is clearly not as heavy duty feeling/looking as the brands I have, it has the look and fits in. The temperature calibration was exactly what my digital gauge stated, I had to adjust the humidity. Quick ship and delivery, as described, new for less than most used ones I saw... Alot to like! Only complaint, FedEx, who has delivered to us here for 20 years, chose to leave package by our garage instead in our enclosed courtyard where a camera alerts us to packages and visitors... The concept that 'decreasing atmospheric pressure predicts stormy weather' was postulated by Lucien Video and it's the basis for a weather prediction device called a storm glass or liquid barometer. It consists of a glass container with a sealed body, half-filled with water. A narrow spout connects to the body below the water level and rises above the water level, where it is open to the atmosphere. When the air pressure is lower than it was at the time the body was sealed, the water level in the spout will rise above the water level in the body and when the air pressure is higher, the water level in the spout will drop below the water level in the body. Also includes a comfort meter, which measures temperature and humidity, and a comfort zone indicator.

Weather Forecasting The weather forecast or pressure tendency is based on the rate of change of barometric pressure. In general, when the pressure increases, the weather improves (sunny to partly cloudy) and when the pressure decreases, the weather degrades (cloudy to rain). The weather forecast is an estimation or generalization of weather changes in the next 24 to 48 hours, and varies from location to location. The tendency is simply a tool for projecting weather conditions and is never to be relied upon as an accurate method to predict the weather. The barometer includes a manually set needle, which is used to mark the current measurement so a change can be seen. Barometric readings should be taken daily. Remember that the rate of change of barometric pressure is important in determining weather changes. You may want to take multiple readings each day during periods of unstable weather conditions.
