I got this 14,000 BTU window AC for my workshop here in Florida, and honestly it’s been a lifesaver in the heat. Bought it for a 10 by 10 space and it kept the room UBER cold! My son would shut it off because the space would get so cold. I had the previous model and the door broke from opening to clean the filter. Therefore, it was nice to see they changed it to a pull out feature to clean the filter, which is better. This is such an upgrade from our 10,000 BTU portable air conditioner. We purchased this Danby because our old a/c unit started blowing hot air. After checking to see if it needed draining, filter cleaning, checking the hose for blockages, etc., we realized it was likely not worth trying to get it repaired. We've bought Danby products before but never a/c units. So far, it's doing a great job. We have it set up in our living room, which counts as two rooms if we were to carpet it and so far, it's keeping the space nice and cool. We live in an apartment, so this works really well. The true test will be how it lasts during some of the summer's longer heat waves, but as we're experiencing mini heat waves right now (that last maybe 2-3 days), I'm happy to say that it's doing a decent job.
