This crate is perfect. The packaging protected the product during shipping. The instructions were easy to follow (not always the case with furniture). I was a little worried by the 1 star and 2 star reviews about the latching hardware not being good. PLEASE IGNORE THOSE! It is obvious that they missed an important step in the instructions regarding spring loaded latches for the inside of the left front gate. I really do love everything about this crate (so far). That is to say, I love the way it looks. I spent days looking at different furniture crates and had an aha moment when I found this one online. It was the perfect vibe for the aesthetic of my home. When it arrived I unpacked everything and inventoried all of the parts. Check. Then I read through the directions and it said it would take two people an hour to put it together. Uncheck. My dad and mom both came over to help. My dad is a carpenter and builder. It took us five hours and a lot of curse words to put it together. Was it worth it? At the time, no. But now that it's together, I'm glad we persevered. It really is a nice, sturdy piece. As for functionality? We'll see. I'm bringing an eight-week-old puppy home in a few weeks and imagine things will be pretty mild at first. The real test will be in a few months to see if the gates hold up. They aren't not sturdy, but they're also not affirmingly solid. I got this for my Maltese he is 11 pounds and this was the perfect size for him. He has plenty of room to sleep in here. It was easy to setup and like that it’s a matte black. This is a beautiful crate. Perfect size for my 15 pound dog. It's obviously so much nicer than a traditional metal crate. I love this dog crate. Very heavy. It is the xtra large… which will be needed as our European Bassett is expected to reach 80-90lbs. I am so happy with how this turned out. It is the perfect size for my 20 pound Chihuahua mix. He is very strong and has escaped wire and plastic crates before. A couple of times, I had to flip or reorient pieces differently than shown in the manual in order to properly align the parts and screw in the rings. If you’re assembling it on your own, I recommend taking your time and double-checking each step before fully tightening everything. Once assembled, I’m very pleased with the finished product. My large-breed dog fits comfortably inside, and the crate feels solid and well-built for everyday use. The storage surface on top is a great bonus — it functions perfectly as an end table and provides extra space for décor or everyday essentials. Well made. Easy to set up. Nice materials. The cages are perfect. I have an American Bulldog mix that weighs 70 LBS and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier that weighs 40 LBS. It fits the Mix perfectly length wise but when he stands all the up while sitting, he head gently bumps the top. If you have a bigger dog, I suggest remembering how tall they are!. Anonymous.
