This collection has been inspired by Russian lacquered boxes from the world-famous village Fedoskino, where for almost 200 years, artists have been painting beautiful miniature lacquered paper-mâché boxes inlaid with mother of pearl. Ornaments are created on handblown 1.5 mm thin glass, like in the old times. We spray silver powder inside the glass ball and then sandblast this ball from the outside. We paint our miniatures with a combination of transparent & opaque paint with multi-layer painting techniques for a realistic, deep iridescent effect of the sun or moonlighting the landscape or beautiful scenery on our ornaments. All sides of the ornament are beautifully decorated, accented with touches of gold, finished with a lovely satin ribbon, then placed in a luxurious satin-lined box.
