This Spartan Helmet took my eye right away! Initially, I thought of both of my sons who love this period of time, but in the end, I kept it for myself! It is made well, but when you first take it out of the plastic wrap it does have an odor, maybe of paint. It looks like a mixture of bronze and black. The size looks comparable to a typical helmet. On its stand it appears to be about 16” high. The big decision is to whether have a frontal view or a side view, showing off the feathers of the helmet. This is an awesome rattlesnake. It looks like a real live snake that was covered with resin to dry. Put side by side, the only way one could tell the difference would be when the real live one moves. Size is accurate, coloring is accurate, shape is accurate. We bought this statue for our desert landscape backyard and it fits perfectly with the cactus’, coyote, bobcat, wild boar, donkey’s, skunk, rabbits, lights and rocks. Looks natural. This is definitely NOT a toy. It is not bendable or shapeable. It is not a cute snake. It is a real representation of a live rattlesnake getting ready to bite (I know because I’ve seen several up close and personal). It seems fairly tough, but I would not grab it and toss it around. Because it is the shape of a snake, it is a thin narrow type statue and if treated too rough it might break. This is a show piece only but a beautiful one at that.
