This solid surface countertop is cast out of a mixture of stone, aluminum & acrylic resin. The stain-resistant material is easy to clean and maintain. Due to its special mixtures, the material can be sanded down for removing scratches and restored to its original matte finish within a matter of seconds. Assembly is not too difficult if you can decode all the parts and compare them to the picture instructions. The drawers assemble with this dovetail locking pattern and no hardware so they easily fall apart if you don’t secure the parts together. We would give 3.5 stars for set-up and 4 stars for look. The sides are plywood, be very careful when screwing sides together - slow and steady. We had one plywood piece separate and that's bad. Be careful with black screws - too long and one poked out of the side (good thing is was on a side that will be on the wall). Recommend using wood glue in addition to the screws, especially with the drawers. Be aware, not all screw holes were 'pre-drilled'. Also the screw holes on one of the drawers was in the wrong position - that was a mindbender! But figured it out finally. We felt that the front & back & the drawers were solid. The sides are plywood and not great quality. We really like the look and the color (once we got it put together). It definitely needs handles.
