It is a Firm Bed, the base feels pretty solid, I only out 4 stars because the material feels cheap and there was some tears on the back of the headboard. The mattress was received compressed in a box, and when the package was opened, the mattress quickly expanded to a king size. It was pretty amazing how it was compressed so small and then turned into a 12” king size mattress. The mattress is firm but also soft at the same time. We have not yet put it on a frame, but we tried it out on the floor and it feels like a top quality mattress.
