Installed this color-changing bathroom fanlight recently and overall I’m really happy with it. Wayfair sent the wrong color since we wanted the matte black one, but support helped. The fan moves air well, the light is bright enough. Color modes are the fun bonus that makes the whole bathroom feel more modern. It’s great to have options… normal white light for getting ready, softer tones for nighttime, and color modes when you want a little vibe. That said, installation was a bit trickier than a standard fan because this unit has multiple functions (light fan color modes). We only had one existing electrical feed at the vent, and while the instructions said additional wiring was “optional,” we wanted to unlock the full potential so we ran an extra line to be able to control everything properly. Uhg! I’m once again wishing for 3.5 stars or a 710. Yes, the Rev-A-Shelf does work and their competition is weak, so I keep buying it. I think this is number four for me in the last few years. It works but they cost so much and leave so much to be desired. The main lacking component in this piece is the absolute waste of space above the can which could easily have been a pull-out drawer. If you’re looking at other pieces, my experience says they’re most likely lacking something too. I hope a competitive company that’s actually good enters the market. For now, let me tell you, it’s probably less expensive and better quality to have something custom-made. I’m doing that for another piece in my kitchen and saving money. I just couldn’t find good cans for this one or would’ve done it too. Over time you’ll probably forget how much you spent on Rev-A-Shelf, which is probably more than twice as much as it’s already marked up retail price should be, but, if you pick it and install it correctly, it should work..
