After 24 hours of fighting, the San Felipe was captured but was so badly damaged that it could not be salvaged as a prize. It sank with several tons of gold.

Guerriere. It was during the ferocious battle with the Guerriere that British seamen, astonished at how their cannonballs were bouncing off the constitution's hull, cried out, ''Sir, her sides are made from iron'' hence, the nickname, ''old ironsides.'' the constitution today is a national landmark and is docked in boston.

Impressive model! I haven't even removed it from the packaging as yet. I am a woodworker and planning to construct a case for it as I did for the Independence, a model I finished this year. Only question I have is about the masts when first received. Upon opening the top of the shipping box I remember all the sails were 90 degrees to the hull. Now after 2 days, all the sails are 30 degrees to the left. I included a shot looking down at the model. I was interested to know if others have noticed this or am I mistaken? Also found this after unpacking (see picture) of rear mast warped at top. This seat is really nice but the manufacturer made some really odd and annoying choices. First, the assembly on this thing turned out to be a lot less complicated than I made it, but only because they didnt provide any instructions. This is definitely a 3-person assemble job!!! The reason being is because the clips that attach the back are already screwed into the unit. You have to u screw them from the unit then take the extremely heavy back piece and screw the connector into place. You need 2 people to hold the heavy back piece into place and 1 person to screw it in. I did it by myself and nearly broke my back trying to hold it up. Please dont do that! The second really odd choice is that the arms are just pillows. I repeat, the arms of the chair are 2 detached cushions! This is basically an armless chair because why in the world would you put an arm rest that can, will and does repeatedly fall off the side of the chair with the slightest movement. Its extremely annoying. Third, the mechanism to pull out the bed only works 50 percent of the time. You have to constantly pull and pull and pull to get the chair to lift and shift. Nice piece, but it's really more of an institutional item and assumes that you are replacing an existing urinal or have framing in place to accommodate an install. Installing this in a dry-walled garage, for instance, will take some doing including cutting away drywall and add 2x4 supports. This was a breeze to apply. Simply shook the container to mix the contents and then applied with a paint roller. Avoided work during direct sunlight hours. Re-applied until the container was empty.
