I have never had a batch disposal before. I have always had the traditional ones that require a switch to turn on. The only real issue (and its not much of one) is with how our sink is in the kitchen island there isn't a good spot to set the plunger when not in use other than in the sink itself. It is powerful and I am really happy how well it does its job. There is no flap that covers the opening to the drain like on traditional disposals. I thought this would be an issue having it open and silverware falling in. With our drain off to the right it really has not been a problem. Although I did have a fork fall into it the fact that the disposals "neck" between the sink and the bottom is long so the fork never fully fell into the disposal it just stood straight up. Also not having that flap covering the disposal makes it much easier to see at a glance if anything has made its way in that should be there. It is noisy but not bad, just as I expected as from traditional. I like the safety of it not turning on unless the plunger is in. We have young kiddos. Just makes me feel better. I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. If I was rating this on the hardware alone, I would give it 5 stars. If I had to rate just the installation instructions and tech support, it would get 2. But since once it's installed it's only the hardware that counts, I'm giving it a 4. The trickiest part of the install is using the template they give you, since it determines where the holes are drilled and getting everything to line-up. Unfortunately the instructions are just plain wrong on this, since they tell you to align the lowest horizontal line on the template with the 'notch' on the bracket (this makes more sense when you're actually doing it.) But looking at the template, it becomes apparent that those two things can't possibly line-up. And to add to the frustration, there's a 10 minutes video provided that shows the step-by-step assembly. However, when they get to drilling the holes, the template is already attached to the gate-- they completely skip-over how to position it! Another frustrating aspect is that when following the instructions, they differ depending upon whether you have a left- or right-hinged gate. But they never explain how that's determined. I even phoned for tech support when I ran into issues with the template and asked "Is it considered left-hinged if the hinges are on the left when the gate is opening towards you?" The tech support guy said "It doesn't matter whether it opens towards you or away from you-- it's whether you're inside or outside the fence." (The correct answer is that it's the side the hinges are on when you're facing the gate and it's opening towards you.) Overall I like this lock very much. We keep our gate locked since our dog is not stranger-friendly, and delivery people were always trying to use the gate. But if we didn't have the keys with us, we couldn't get through either. I also like that the isn't powered (no wiring to run or batteries to wear out), and the fact that the order you press the keys in doesn't matter is good, since we can, for instance, use the same code as our alarm panel (once less code to remember) but give someone else the code numbers in a different order, so they can open the gate, but not disarm the alarm with that code.. Smaller than I wanted it will not hold the towels side by side. If your plug is behind the rack there is not enough room for the towels to hang and its a fight to get them on the rack. Also the rack does not heat as well the only area that heats is where the towel is laying across the bar not just touching it.
