I ordered these chair mats recently and was a little surprised that they felt pretty cold when they arrived. If you’re ordering during the winter, I’d recommend letting them sit at room temperature for a while before unrolling them. Once they warmed up and I followed the instructions, they flattened out without any issues. So far they’ve been working really well. My chair glides smoothly on the carpet now, which is a big improvement from before. They also look nice and are easy to wipe clean, so maintenance has been simple. I just got this rug Friday and put it down on Saturday night. Coir mats are completely biodegradable and compostable. For optimal results, the manufacturer suggests using this doormat in a sheltered area, such as a covered porch, and keeping exposure to extreme moisture and sunlight to a minimum. If the doormats are excessively exposed to the elements, some color transfer may occur onto natural stone, concrete, or other surfaces and stenciled designs may eventually fade. The texture of the fibers is normal and adds a special character to each individual doormat. During the first few weeks, it is normal for the coir doormat to shed fibers.
