Exactly as expected. This chair was easy to assemble, the pieces were simple and the instructions were straightforward. The assembly seems sturdy and holds my 175lb son with ease. I bought it for his desk in his room so a pad for under the chair will probably be beneficial but it glides nicely on our hardwood floors.
