I have never had a batch disposal before. I have always had the traditional ones that require a switch to turn on. The only real issue (and its not much of one) is with how our sink is in the kitchen island there isn't a good spot to set the plunger when not in use other than in the sink itself. It is powerful and I am really happy how well it does its job. There is no flap that covers the opening to the drain like on traditional disposals. I thought this would be an issue having it open and silverware falling in. With our drain off to the right it really has not been a problem. Although I did have a fork fall into it the fact that the disposals "neck" between the sink and the bottom is long so the fork never fully fell into the disposal it just stood straight up. Also not having that flap covering the disposal makes it much easier to see at a glance if anything has made its way in that should be there. It is noisy but not bad, just as I expected as from traditional. I like the safety of it not turning on unless the plunger is in. We have young kiddos. Just makes me feel better. My first time booking something like this up and it took about one hour. Used youtube to help put it together. It’s very heavy so I recommend using a bucket to hold it up. The LEDefense light looks cool and it seems to really work well too. I have put a lot of garlic through it and the light seems to have kept any odor from that at bay. Only used one time so far I think overall it will be great you must hold the the pilot light down for 5 or 6 minutes, at least to get it to light up. For me, the installation was a lot harder than I thought it would be. The unit I have is propane. Time will tell, but overall, I think its going to be great for heating up my small cabin. This review is on the delivery experience not the machine. The delivery team was polite, but the experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. It took roughly 1.5 hours to install a washer and pedestal because they were not familiar with how the pedestal installs. Despite clear issues during setup and their reluctance to take guidance, I ultimately had to determine the correct installation steps myself just to get the job finished. After they left, the washer repeatedly threw an error, which took additional time to troubleshoot only to discover that they had failed to turn the water supply valves on. This added to an already unnecessarily long and difficult process. To make matters worse, their driving on the property was reckless. They drove at an unsafe speed on the driveway and nearly caused a head-on collision with a vehicle exiting the property. While the individuals were courteous, the lack of technical competence, attention to detail, and basic safety made this a very poor and exhausting experience.. Ilaria. Washington, CT.
