This tub is very impressive, my contractor and plumber really liked the tub. It was just installed so I haven’t actually gotten in it yet. The lights come on and the jets work. But I don’t know how to change the radio station and the glass is a little high so if your a little bit older it would be hard to lift your leg so high to get in and out the tub. Arrived two days ago. I paid to have it dropped directly onto my concrete pad. Got electrical hooked up yesterday, filled it up last night, got in it this morning. The good stuff: It looks good, should be very reliable given how simple it is, and was a great price. The not-so-good stuff: They sent me the wrong color, the ozonator was broken upon arrival, the drain connection is tucked back under the tub and has no shutoff valve, the jets control is just one button but still manages to be confusing. But, at the end of the day, I just want some hot water, with jets, and not have it die every six months. So, I'm mostly a happy customer. 1 Week Update: Just a heads-up, exactly where the cover lift arm attaches, there's a vertical strap in the way (see my photo). So, to screw-on the cover lift arm, I had to use 0.25" spacers at each screw location. Not the end of the world, but pretty annoying. 3 Month Update: It's been great, but three annoying things that have revealed themselves worth mentioning. (1) The filter lid cover floats away under any, any surge of water. (2) There is no shutoff valve on the drain port. It cost me only $15 to add one, but kind of silly. (3) Expect a lot of leaching from the metal components over the first several months. It discolors the water. I'm on my 4th refill now. Hopefully it's done with the leaching.. Joshua. Sisters, OR. The shed is very good. It definitely takes two people three would be better to put it together to hold the panels up in place and to get everything where it’s supposed to be and just a word of warning. Make sure that you anchor it to a wall or it will blow over. I had this shed tucked into a corner right up against house. I cannot believe that when got in there, but it blew it over and it was full of yard things it was a mess. I had to pull everything out of the bottom, which is open and anchor it into the wall, so don’t make the mistake like I did and think that just because it’s full, the weight is gonna keep it up in a high wind because it will not. UPDATE 1 YEAR LATER: you must attach this to your house. i did not attach it to my house even though i had it tucked in a small space right up against the house with the chimney to one side. i thought it was secure because the whole thing is also in an enclosed fenced yard and didn't think the wind would get behind it at all. . that being said it blew over one evening when it was TOTALLY FILLED! What a mess. i had to pull everything out of the bottom and get 2x people to stand it up. the back popped open and one of the panels got damaged. all and all it was ok but we now attached it to the house. so don't make my mistake and think all the weight you have in it will keep it from blowing over..it will not. even in an enclosed area.. We are SO happy with this tub! The seating arrangement is perfect, with no “lounger” to limit options. Setup was a breeze for our electrician- he was very pleased with the accessibility of the electrical components. The jets are amazing, the cover fits nice and snug, and everything works exactly as we had hoped. The tub arrived in perfect condition, the shippers were pleasant, and it arrived right on schedule. Overall, it’s been an absolutely perfect experience, and my only regret is being unable to give it six stars. Update Almost 2 12 years in, we still love this tub! Delivery was fast, but the box was banged up & there were some dings on the machine. Despite this being advertised as a white Homdox machine, what arrived was a light grey (that clearly is grey, not white) Nictemaw machine that, except for the coloring, looks exactly the same as the advertised Homdox one. (I now suspect that all these similar looking machines with different brand names are all Nictemaw machines that have been licensed to carry other brand names.) When it arrived there was a bit water that was all over the inside of the box & the machine. I’ve read that this is normal due to the machines being run-tested prior to sale. In addition, there was a strong burning rubber smell that kept making me nauseous. Upon researching, I found out the smell can either be normal or a sign of motor damage & the only way to know which is whether the smell goes away in some days as you use the machine or if it remains the same or intensifies as you use the machine & that during this time there is the potential for the laundered items to pick up the smell. Given the combo of the smell making me sick, the exterior being marred and the machine not being the advertised white color that I wanted, I contacted Wayfair & they offered to either come get the machine & do a full refund or take a percentage off. I chose the latter because I really didn’t want the hassle of boxing it up since it weighs like 50 pounds. Wayfair’s customer service was hassle free & excellently responsive. I just had to upload some pictures as proof & that was it. In about a week the smell did dissipate but I was sick the whole time whenever I entered the room it was in. I put it on a dolly & then adjusted the height of the machine legs so it was flat. When it does the high rpm spin, the machine does wobble, but not excessively & I suspect that if it was on the floor instead of the dolly, the wobbling would be minimal. Installing the quick connect adapter to my bathroom sink faucet was fast and easy, as was screwing on the hose to the machine water inlet. Just make sure you screw it in tight enough, without over tightening. In the beginning some water slowly accumulated on it, but after tightening it up a slight bit more, there’s been no more leaking. At first I didn’t like look of the inlet being on top of the machine, & not on the back, but now I love it because it allows for a nonconvoluted hose connection to the faucet & the quick connection has remained tight even with the faucet turned all the way up. The machine does make noise while operating, most especially when spinning, but it hasn’t seemed excessive to me. Your taste might differ. I really dislike the manual and the detergent dosing visual guide on the control panel because both are unclear. A picture of a cup or a cup and a half doesn’t tell you the actual measurement ranges. It really is a learn as you go experience as to how much detergent is too much or too little. It is better to err on the side of under-dosing & work your way up so you don’t end up having to do multiple extra rinses to get all of the detergent out. The instructions are basically non-existent because hardly any are given & then what is given is so badly translated into English that they are almost incomprehensible. I have no idea what the difference is between the Common & Normal settings for example or what quality makes the Blanket setting good for blankets. It is all trial and error. First know that the double letters printed on the control panel are displayed on the lcd when the machine is running in order to tell you what activity it is doing. The see through grey lid is really not that see through but that’s not much of an issue because you can open the lid and see what the machine is doing without the machine stopping except for the rinse and spin cycles. During rinses the lid can be up while the tub is filling with water & doing the normal “wash” rotations and while the water is draining (you will hear the noise of the powered draining) but once the draining stops & it is getting ready to spin, you must close the lid or else you will get an error alarm. While washing it does two types of rotations. The first type is more forceful and lasts longer than the second type which is a short period of half rotations. In my opinion clothes come out quite clean just like a full sized machine. For the full cycles, except for the Quick cycle which only has one, the rinse cycle consists of two rounds and they use the highest level of water independent of whatever water level you chose for washing. The first round is longer than the second. Each rinse round consists of the same rotation pattern as when washing, a longer and stronger one & then a short burst of half rotations, then the water is drained out, then you must have the lid closed and it does a series of low rpm spins and then a burst of high rpm spins, then the machine refills with clean water. The second rinse round is very short in terms of agitation time. This is the rinse round where you put in fabric softener. After the rinse rounds are over there is the final very high rpm spin round. At the end of the final spin round the clothes are like 50-60% dry in my opinion. There is a spin only setting so you can repeat 8 min high rpm spins so as to extract even more water. Afterwards you can put the clothes to dry outside of the machine or use the air dry function for 30 or 60 or 90 minutes to further, but never completely, dry the items. I would give both the spin & air dry functions a 4/5 rating. One thing I’m not a fan of (in addition to the fact that the lint catcher filter is a 0/5 because it does nothing, so get make sure to either get a really effective drain cover or put a stocking over the end of the drain hose or do both) is that pre-wash soaking and softener rinse soaking times are not customizable (nor is there a setting for the cycles to automatically transition into air drying without you having to come back to the machine to manually start air drying) so this is how I do things. 1 - start the machine at whatever wash program and only pick the first water level 2 - add in my prewash powders mix (equal parts of Biz, Borax, Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda, & OxiClean) & laundry detergent & scent booster beads to the water as it is filling in 3 - let the machine “wash” for about 2 minutes so that everything is evenly dissolved & then Power Off the machine 4 - Turn the machine back on and pick the wash cycle and water level I really want and put in the clothes as the machine is filling up with more water. 5 - Let the cycle agitate for like a minute and then Pause the cycle for however long I want the clothes to soak. 6 - Come back when the soaking time is over and Unpause the machine & let it wash and do the first round of rinse & rinse-spin. 7 - At the end of the first rinse-spin (with the clothes half-dry) I Pause the machine & take out the clothes & then Unpause the machine 8 - While the machine is filling up with water I pour in softener & when the machine starts to agitate, I Pause it again & put back in the clothes & then Unpause it & let it agitate for like a minute & then Pause it again & let the clothes soak for 15-20 minutes in the softener & then Unpause & let it finish the rinse, spin & air dry cycles. 9 - Finally, I put the clothes in a rectangular, about 5 feet tall, clothes drying tent that has the drying machine peeking through the bottom floor of the tent & in addition I put in a dehumidifier at the bottom of the drying tent to speed up drying time. 10 - By the end, everything comes out clean, dry, soft and smelling wonderful. It might sound like a lot of steps but it is still better and more time efficient than going to a laundromat. One final point, if you are going to drain into a bathtub with thick sides the provided u-shaped drain holder is not wide enough to fit so you have to come up with an alternative method to keep the hose down solely in the bathtub & not flailing round spurting water everywhere. This was delivered super fast. It was packaged well. It was what we were looking for, and now that I’ve got it installed and used it a few times, I can say it works so well, and I love it. I knocked a star off because there are some frustrating (welding) stains on the stainless steel, and I got cut on a piece of sharp metal that was sticking out of it. Other than that, it’s a dream, and for the price, I don’t think we could have gotten even close with another option. Or the Wall Support Guide may be located aligned with or even spaced back from the edge of the door opening to allow the door to open to the full width or further than the wall opening. Refer to the online installation instructions for the Houdini Hardware for specific guidelines. And door size also depends upon if your wall opening is surrounded by decorative casing or molding. (Casing cannot be more than 1” deep). Determine the minimum door width: Two options - either the door opens to with full width of the wall opening, or the door can partially cover a portion of the wall opening. (For instance - for a bathroom door, you may want 4 to 6 inches of door remaining accessible after opening to easily access the door pull from the bathroom side of the door). To calculate door width to open exposing the full wall opening, then measure the distance of the wall opening and add 8” (wall opening width + 8” = minimum door width. The door can be wider than this). Example: If the wall opening is 30”, then a door size of at least 38” will be needed. **NOTE** IF YOU HAVE CASING/TRIM AROUND THE OPENING, AND YOU WANT TO COVER WHEN FULLY OPEN OR FULLY CLOSED, PLEASE ACCOUNT FOR THE SIZE OF THE TRIM WHEN MEASURING FOR THE DOOR WIDTH. For a completely hidden and concealed hardware appearance, then mount the Door Boot INSIDE (and not ON) the bottom edge of the door. This requires routing an edge-to-edge slot in the bottom of the 1-3/4” thick door. To determine the door height for this installation, measure between the finished floor and the top frame, then add 3” (height of frame + 3” = minimum door height). Love this invisible hardware as a modern option to traditional barn door hardware. We bought several Iron and Glass Doors and Glass Reeded Doors from Wayfair and although the doors came with traditional barn door hardware we opted to purchase this Houdini Hardware and it was a fabulous decision. We were able to add a piece of poplar to the top of the door frame and we will paint it black to match the door, to allow for the hardware to fit as you need 2 1/2 inches of width to attach the hardware. We feel disappointed in the quality (or lack of), but also in Wayfair's refusal to stand behind a product they sold.
