The edge around the top underneath where it rests on the bottom piece is rough, that’s my only complaint. I’d prefer a smooth edge. I purchased this in order to try and get my kids to be a little more self sufficient and prep their own cereal in the mornings. I chose this particular model because the base is metal there were others that were plastic, and one that looked like metal (due to being silver), but when I read the reviews and specs, it was all plastic. I do wish more came out with every crank, and I am toying with the idea of cutting one of the spokes off, to help cereal flow a little more freely. I have tended to stay with smaller morsels, specifically because of this, and I definitely cannot imagine things like Mini Wheats fit through without pulverizing. I still like the item, and definitely like the quality and looks. My kids initially loved the concept, but don’t like it since they have to crank it upwards 10x..again, I may try and a spoke off and hopefully that will help.
