It gave our kitchen a much more modern look, and I like the front controls and how easy the glass top is to keep clean. The oven has worked well, and I haven’t had any issues with baking. My only complaint is the cooktop when using cast iron. We cook with cast iron almost every day, and I noticed the heat doesn’t seem to spread as evenly as I expected. It’s not a deal breaker, but it was noticeable compared to other stoves I’ve used. If you mostly cook with stainless steel or nonstick pans, this probably won’t be an issue. The fridge is very sleek and well laid out to maximize the small space. Definitely has a few cons - the drawers feel flimsy. The middle freezer drawer tends to get stuck and we have to lift the other drawers to get it to go back in. I would advise against ordering this from Wayfair. Ours arrived in completely damaged package that was taped over to conceal the hole, and the range itself has a massive dent up and down the entire back side. Did Wayfair send me a replacement? Nope! We really like the way it cooks salmon fillets using the Speed Cook technology -- a combination of upper halogen element, the lower element, convection and microwave. Pretty amazing. The nice exterior design looks good in our kitchen, right above a conventional Cafe wall oven. We purchased this oven to replace our previous (almost identical) 240V Advantium Custom Speed Cook oven. We appreciate most of the subtle display firmware/software improvements in the new VS1 design compared with the older NS1 model, which we replaced due to odd rebooting every few weeks. We loved the older model (other than the reboots) and appreciate the new one even more, except for the relatively loud alert sound when we open the door to check the temperature of something we are cooking. So far so good. The installation was tough as the template supplied for the alignment of the screw holes on the back didn't really work. We had to modify the holes on the back. We are planning on placing a stainless steel panel to cover the hole left by our microwave. The little remote was a cute feature I didn't realize it came with, so that was a bonus.. Jessica. Beautiful and looks just like the pictures; however, the controls are a bit hard to understand and navigate. There are “duration” functions where you can turn cooking times on and off and it is difficult to tell whether they are on or not and for which oven.. oh and it only all for military time display. Not good for us. The oven worked as intended the first few days and then suddenly the small oven stopped heating. We can’t figure out why (is it the duration function or not? And no we are not tech-dumb - my husband is an engineer who can figure most anything out and this is our second Ilve but this one operates differently.. ) and now will need to call in a technician and spend more money on this.
