This is the quietest range hood I have ever used with an unique design. The installation is straight forward for most with video tutorial online that's readily available. I went with a professional installation. This range hood is rated at 1100cfm and the unique design has worked very well. My home no longer smells even when I deep fry. I did two modifications for my installation. I went with a Zephyr 6"-8" duct increaser. The reason I did this is because the range hood is rated over 1000cfm. This might not be necessary but it's a choice I made for myself because of the rated CFM. My installation required a 4" spacer piece. I used 6" 10-32 fine thread screws to secure my upper cabinet to the range hood to make up the 4" spacer difference. This is not necessary according to Fotile but I went the extra mile for $13 more in screws, bolts, and washers. So far I am very satisfied with how quiet and powerful it is. The gas range is very powerful, the iron grill is sturdy and offers a flat top (no pot or pan wiggling!) for the entire range. This feature is helpful in a small kitchen with limited counter space. Other reviewers are correct when saying the temperature dial needs to be set above the needed temp to get a correct preheat. Remedy with a hanging oven thermometer. Do not, I repeat, Do not get the ‘GE Installation’ service with this appliance. Even if you buy an installation kit. The technician will come in, excuse in hand, and will tell you that any dust, or light green on the gas pipe disallows them to service the installation. (When plumbers test for gas leaks upon installation they spray a little water on the line, leading to a light green) Be ready with your own plumber on the day of delivery. A nice door, but it was damaged during delivery. Big black boot marks where someone walked all over the box in spite of the fact that it said right on the box to keep it upright and handle with care. I would like to have the bent part sent to us if it possible to replace and attach it. Call me tomorrow morning by about 10:00 am EDT/ I am very pleased that Wayfair gave me a nice discount and a gift certificate for our trouble. Fortunately, we were able to repair the damage. The recirculation kits performs multi-stage filtration and removes the odor from the gas and smoke that is sucked into the range hood, which removes harmful components and pollutants in the smoke, and effectively solves the problem of using range hoods in houses where the range hood cannot be exhausted. Do not try to clean the charcoal filter in the recirculation kit as it can not be cleaned, Please change the charcoal filter every 4-6 months (depending on hood usage)

Optional recirculating kit for use with select Zephyr range hoods. The recirculating kit will filter contaminated air through charcoal filters before being reintroduced back into the kitchen. Please check your Zephyr range hood's specification sheet to ensure compatibility.
