We love the look and its heat. Installation was easy. We do find we have a burned off propane smell, but we solved this by having an air purifier next to it, makes us feel its safer that way. The propane industry may tell us all its safe to breathe those off gases, but like now known re natural gas, its better to not have those, so I would always suggest a good gas removing air purifier in the room, just my opinion.. We purchased this for a new home build that had a slide in range in an island. We did not want an exhaust hood that hung down from the ceiling and this one was perfect for a flush mount in the ceiling. It was priced considerably less than other brands that had white glass finishes. There are a couple discoveries we made however. It did not turn on once the power was brought to the new build. We called Awoco and were told to check in the black box under the stainless grill, for a white connection that sometimes is disconnected. That solved the problem and the unit lit up and worked with the remote and the voice commands. Customer service was very helpful and seemed to know exactly what to look for. There is one other thing to be aware of with the voice command, occasionally it picks up what it believes to be a request for action and starts talking, asking for directions. We thought we were hearing voices until we realized it was the exhaust fan talking. So far so good. The installation was tough as the template supplied for the alignment of the screw holes on the back didn't really work. We had to modify the holes on the back. We are planning on placing a stainless steel panel to cover the hole left by our microwave. The little remote was a cute feature I didn't realize it came with, so that was a bonus.. Jessica.
