I like the look of the legs and beyond the aesthetic standpoint, the legs create a solid base to prevent the table from wabbling like you would experience with metal legs. Absolutely serves the purpose and looks stylish. I took one point off because it could be more sturdy, but we've had no issues during play (and it has had heavy) use. One score slide on the end comes loose regularly, but it not difficult to tighten. We also make sure the kids don't set anything on it, like books.
