This is heavy, beautiful, substantial and really looks quite stately and regal in the room. I hired professional installers (a carpenter and an assistant) and it took them approximately one full workday 9-5 to install it. Its heavy and needs to be done correctly to look architectural and finished. Thrilled with it! Still have some painting and styling to do to the wall (painting) and fireplace (styling) (and some caulking between the end of the fireplace and the wall), but very very happy with this purchase!. I am always leary when I order an expensive item such as a fireplace on line. However, this did not disappoint! I am so impressed on the aesthetics and quality of this product. The packaging was superb and not a chip on the concrete. The assembly was a bit of challenge since I had it framed differently from the instructions in order to accentuate the arch. The pictures don’t do justice. I really love the French Provençal look it’s giving. This definitely will anchor the vibe that I’m trying to achieve with my house renovation goals! I ordered this stone mantle it is absolutely beautiful. The delivery was quick and the unit was not damaged in anyway as it was well packed. What I love about it is that it does not take up a lot of room on the floor nor on the wall it is a thin unit which is exactly what I needed as a mantle! Just know that when you install it, you need to put a stronger adhesive to make sure it does not come off-the-wall. You also need to cut down the inner tiles that attach to the legs of the mantle so the inner tile on the top can fit appropriately. you also need to put a 2 x 4 behind the top of the mantle to help with the support of the weight of the top of the mantle as well. I have included a picture of the mantle in my space as well as the mortar we used! What is helpful is that the legs to come with metal straps to screw into the wall which helps with installment and secure Ness of the legs! The problem we have had is that the electric fireplace insert was in front of the filler panels and the panels needed to be professionally cut and glued onto a wooden frame along the inside of the front of the opening. This beam is constructed out of ¾” thick Aspen wood and is 6 1/2" tall. You choose the length and depth. Each piece of wood is unique and will have more or less character/knots than the other. It is designed to look like a solid beam without weight. The distressed beams are painted either black or white and have the edges sanded over and a brown stain/wax applied for a distressed look. The distressed beams will not be a solid color. Easy to install utilizing a French cleat mounting bracket which is included. Screws are not included. You will need to purchase 3" screws for the application you will be attaching the bracket. Corbels will increase the total height of the beam to 13". The corbels have been pre-drilled and include screws. You will need to attach the corbels to the beam upon receipt. Wood is considered a combustible material. Heat clearances must be adhered to. If installing over a fireplace, check your local building codes and the manufacturer's instructions for your specific fireplace insert or stove.

Wow! This 72” mantel was even better than expected. The stain was even, and the finish was more on the matte side which was exactly what I wanted for our remodeled family room! I noticed some people commenting on the pearl insert on the side. I didn’t think it was noticeable. It’s small and towards the back on the right side.
