Use the Allen key that looks like a wine bottle opener! These chairs are beautiful, sturdy and very comfortable, but they take a few hours to put together. The first chair took me forever to assemble, but I used it as a learning experience. I learned that I could have saved myself a ton of time if I had used the provided allen key with the red top (looks like a wine bottle opener), instead of the conventional one that was also provided. I also learned that I needed help from someone else for a few stages in the process because it saves a lot of time. Things went a lot smoother and faster when I put together the second chair. I like the chairs, and they look great once assembled, but the long-term durability remains to be seen. The assembly instructions could definitely be improved. In particular, I think Steps 1 and 2 should be reversed because the M6x60mm bolts fit awkwardly and create too much movement when it’s time to attach the front section of the seat. The bolt-and-nut setup was a bit confusing, and several connections felt loose until the later assembly steps were completed. Because of this, assembly took longer than expected.
