I was worried about the bar in front because you obviously can’t scoot all the way in or your legs will hit the bar, but you know what… it didn’t impact us while eating at all. I’ve had my umbrella opened since I installed it and we’ve had rain and wind for the past week and this umbrella has not wavered or moved an inch! I’m in the process of finding a new outdoor table with an umbrella hole, and I have no worries that this base will keep the umbrella steady.
