It's a nice cabinet and heavy, but not solid oak as we had thought. It's an oak veneer and not all oak veneer in some spots so if you get unfinished staining doesn't work very well, so we had to paint ours. Update one of the handles was put on upside down so it was an easy fix. The lid will actually be raised when you raise the TV and will be lowered when you lower the TV. I have therefore raised my rating to five stars. The TV stand serves the purpose. The mechanism to raise and lower the TV works well. However, the hardware was put on crooked and the hinges for raising the top theme with somewhat dangerous. I’m not sure I see the point of using Alexa to raise your TV when you have to stand up and raise the lid manually. It would be much better if there was someway to remotely lift and lower the lid. Easy to assemble. Very sturdy and all door hinges have 3-way adjustment to make sure doors align properly. Have yet to install LED light strip and put DVD, Cable box, receiver, etc. inside cabinet. I wish the holes on left and right side were lower to more easily hide wiring equipment. Note the center back panel was assembled per directions. It wasn’t until after everything was assembled that I realized the slots should have been at the bottom, not the top, again to better hide wiring. Because I order a lot of assembly-required furniture, I can confidently say that this came in an unfathomable amount of pieces. It took hours to assemble even with a power drill. Thank goodness my husband took this project on because I would have surely given up, and I am usually good for assembly. I am not sure it was worth the price considering the labor and also because there are also several chips in the finish, sadly.
