It is sturdy enough for being this light but I wouldn't say this is a heavy duty and sturdy box that will take abuse such as sitting on it or kids jumping on it. I’m in the process of finding a new outdoor table with an umbrella hole, and I have no worries that this base will keep the umbrella steady. Suncast has excellent products that last for years, and years. This large deck box was very easy to assemble, is waterproof, and very sturdy.
