Living in Central Arizona, specifically the Scottsdale and Phoenix area, we enjoy growing tomatoes during the winter months. To accommodate this, we use a raised bed for our tomato plants. While the region generally enjoys mild winters, there are occasional mornings when temperatures dip into the upper 30s to mid-40s. Since tomatoes are sensitive to such cold conditions, I decided to purchase this particular cover to protect our plants. Modifications and Setup Due to the raised nature of our garden bed, I needed to retrofit the cover to fit our setup. The standard 3-foot height of the cover is somewhat low for tomato plants, even when adjusted to sit above the bed. To ensure stability, I anchored the base frame to 2x4 stilts and secured the stilts to cinder blocks using simple twine (see photos). This solution has proven effective in keeping the structure secure, even during windy conditions. After reading the reviews and seeing from multiple folks that it’s not horrible to put together, I ordered this greenhouse and received it in July. It arrives in lots and lots of boxes, so be sure you have lots of space for sorting and storing. I received a box with updated roof instructions that were to be used instead of the ones that came with the greenhouse. The build wasn’t too bad, I’d maybe not do it again at the end of July, beginning of Aug. I would also recommend to make sure you have a strong marriage if you are putting this together with your husband, especially if he likes to keep a level handy or it could result in a missing husband and a mysterious new flowerbed in the back of the yard. Everything basically went well with the build, the new roof instructions were a bit confusing, but I got it figured out. I’ve stained the outside and painting the inside at the moment, so I’m not moved in completely yet. It’s a great size, the benches that fold down work great and give you so much work space. The Victorian Greenhouse is perfect for me. Very well made and ease of use made it a wonderful choice. The vents open easily and both doors open and lock with minimal effort. I have plenty of room to start seeds and store all the supplies that are needed. We placed it on a concrete pad and anchored it down with the anchors supplied. We had harsh winds a couple of weeks later with no damage to the greenhouse. I waited a long time for a greenhouse and did a lot of research before choosing Vego. I definitely made the right choice..
