The remote is handy, has 6 speeds so I can fine tune depending if we’re just sitting around or cooking. Tried the reverse direction too, during a cooler night, and it did make the air feel softer instead of breezy. Timer settings are simple, I mostly use the 4 hour one before going to bed. One thing, there’s no light with it, which I knew before, but worth saying since many fans come with one. For me it was fine, we already have ceiling lights. I needed a fan for my loft that would help circulate the air for efficiency in heating and cooling. But, I don't really like the look of most ceiling fans and didn't need to have lights in it. So, I ordered this with reservations because it is so expensive. However, it really looks nice, is well balanced so it doesn't wobble one bit, and it is absolutely silent when it's on. My electrician said it's very good quality, was straight forward to install, and has a good motor. There is a remote control I can use to regulate speed and direction, which comes with a holder that can be installed on the wall next to the switch so it is less likely to get lost.
