This is likely not what many people are using this skate for, but were doing it to help socialize our wonderful new dog with my two cats, one of them is not very dog savvy. Absolutely perfect for my needs. We now own 5 of these gates which we use to keep our dog restricted to certain areas of the house. The features we like best are that you can install it on either side of the doorway, the gate swings both ways, and you can install it above the floor, if desired. This works out perfectly for our cats, who are able to slip under the gate (mounted 6 inches above the floor). The dogs are not able to follow. This is great. I was looking for a permanent solution to keep the dog from the front door and a way to separate the dogs from my niece when she visits. This is perfect fix. It opens and closes easily with adult human hands, meaning the dogs or my niece can’t open it. It also has a lock, which will be great when my niece is a little older.
