It was fairly easy to put together myself. I just wish it had a way to prevent water from dripping on the floor plus soil from falling from the drainage holes, for indoor use which is why I purchased it. Once soil is placed in the bins there is no way to tell if the slightly raised reservoir will spill over. My husband said this was cheap junk but I really like it. He has an electric drill that we used while assembling it. In line with what another reviewer suggested, I primed and painted mine. Perfect. Exactly what I needed for a small kitchen garden on our deck. (Although it's still too cold to plant.) The instructions are a little confusing because you need to assemble the sides to mirror on another, but if you lay out all the pieces first it's pretty easy. I used a drill and it took less than an hour to put together. Be mindful that the wood is quite soft. I wound up with a few marks on it from laying the pieces on twigs and small debris on our deck.
