I've been using this evaporative cooler in 95 degree heat in our upstairs and it is keeping my small office cool by about a 10 degree drop, maybe more, especially when I fill the ice packs so it works great. It gets 4 stars instead of five because I specifically searched for the Gymax version and what came was a Costway version instead. I suspected they were the same, it likely doesn't matter. I spent about the same amount, $125 here for this one as I've seen Costways online elsewhere. Because the Gymax one costs more elsewhere, I was hoping it was a beefier version (even though they do look like the same unit). I now think they are the same unit, just branded differently. But it works! That's what matters. A few things: It's bigger than I imagined, but still fine. You also can't bring the water tank to the sink, you have to bring water to it because it is attached.. This is a fantastic portable AC! It works exceptionally well and I love its features, like how the vents move in opposite directions for maximum breeze and how the temperature display is also a thermostat. Portable is debatable, because it weighs 70 lbs. I am not strong, and I thought I would need to hire someone to help my husband get it up 2 flights of stairs. But then I cut out two holes near the top of the box to use as handholds and that provided all the extra help I needed. After it was delivered, I let it sit there for a couple of days and then I did not turn on the AC for another two days after dragging it up the stairs. The only problem was mine, because the window frame is 26 inches wide and the panel where the hose attaches and feeds out is almost 27 inches. I had to measure the excess and use a small hacksaw to saw off the tiny bit of excess plastic. Luckily this was not particularly difficult!
