The recessed gas plug is a convenient outlet for natural gas or propane that can be hooked up directly to your house or RV gas system. It doesn't take up room underneath the cabinet either. *There's a crimp piece required. The metal one didn't fit properly, and they provided a plastic one also which worked, but barely..
