This was even better looking than I thought it would be. It looks beautiful. However, customers should know that there is no opening for a diverter hose from a downspout. And there are no instructions for setting up other than the spigots. It seems like it is designed to just sit anywhere and gather rain, which would take forever. I ordered 2 sizes of rain barrels and stands to match from same company. They changed shade of color somewhere along the line so not everything matched. Manufacturer told me to keep stands or donate which was nice since then I didnt have to package up and send back. Maybe they shouldve changed color name to new color so this wont happen to others. I bought this barrel and the diverter kit separately. Works best when you convert the top to a planter . This barrel is sturdy and was compatible with the eco station diverter kit. I bought 2 , and curiously enough one barrel came with 2 brass spigots and the other came with just one plastic spigot … plastic spigot does not look sturdy.. also the spigot cut out is low so you may want to elevate barrel for sufficient pressure, although you could cut your own hole and insert a spigot. The Good Ideas Rain Wizard Flex Kit Diverter System will work with virtually every downspout. The design is simple, and the kit includes all the needed installation tools. The diverter system not only fills the barrel from the downspout directly but also avoids overflowing the barrel when properly installed by directing excess water back to the downspout. Installation is quick and easy. On the downspout, simply drill a hole with the included hole saw, then insert the rubber rain catch. The rain catch design allows the collection of water as it runs down the walls of your downspout while it filters out any leafy debris. Next, drill a hole in your rain barrel at the same level and insert the flanged rubber receiver. Finally, connect the diverter and receiver with the included flexible tubing.

I finished the install on this with my own paver platform and rain chain. Had our first rain already and filled it up. I did replace the spigot. While this isn’t drinking water, I still don’t want lead runoff. I replaced it with a 304 Stainless Steel 34 Inch NPTMIP Male Hose Bibb (in case you are searching for the size). It’s a perfect fit, no leaks, and excellent pressure. I’m still giving it 5 stars because I got my barrel when it was marked down. The sale price the new spigot was still cheaper than the regular price d barrel. Great barrel that has a removable top. I daisy-chained two together and also put a 2 inch pipe connector in the second one to run water to a separate project. I've put soaker hoses on most of the brass spigots (not in this pic), and I obviously raised the barrels pretty high to maximize gravity for water pressure. Put these in two days ago and waiting for a good rain so I haven't seen them fill up yet. This 50 link kit is your tool for expanding the capacity of your 50 collection system. Though some people are able to buy multiple barrels that hook up to separate downspouts at their home, others may have obstructions that remove that option or make it difficult to work around. Not all soaker hoses are created equal. Ours is specially made to be used in no-to-low flow applications, specifically with rain barrels. Regular soaker hoses are designed to be used with external house faucets which force water out through the porous rubber membrane. Rain barrels must rely on gravity to supply pressure which it does rather poorly. Our rain barrel soaker hose is formulated with unique rubber compounds.
