This is a beautiful picture. The colors are very vivid, but I gave it four stars because the backing was not as sturdy as we would have liked. The backing required that four plastic tabs be inserted into each corner to hold the frame, but the tabs kept falling out while we were trying to hang it. The lilac time dahlias are tender perennial plants from the daisy family, that are really easy to grow with spectacular results. These colorful spiky flowers generally bloom from midsummer to first frost, when many other plants are past their best. Their flowers range widely in size, color, shape and number of petals., from the giant 10-inch dinner plate blooms to the 2-inch lollipop-style pompoms. Most varieties grow 4 to 5 feet tall. Though not well suited to extremely hot and humid climates, dahlias brighten up any sunny garden with a growing season that's at least 120 days long.
