It is made of metal and features a heavy duty 21" wide base. Each layer of branches is made up of one piece of metal. The width of branches range from 25" at the bottom (widest) to 9" at the top (smallest). There is 8" of hanging space between each of the tiers with 4" between the very top branch and the first tier of branches. This tree will be a beautiful natural focal point in any room!

These solar lights are beautiful but I have tried and tried to remove the plastic cover off the solar panel area on one of them. I even read that I could use warm water and that did not work. I also read you can warm it up with a blow dryer and that did not work. I am being extra careful to not damage the surface. After installing the outlet and plugging in my Eurofase fixture I realized how dirty the glass was.
