I got this curtain for a wide, south-facing bay window in my living room. If you're looking for true blackout function, this curtain (in wheat... a mid-tone) is only a partial win. In bright, direct sun, this curtain filters only a 3 out of 4 (to compare with a brand which uses that 4-point scale with honesty). In overcast or night settings (I live across from a commercial site with intense LED lighting at night), this curtain is 100% blackout, but in bright daytime, glows dark orange and shows both direct sunlight and bleedthrough areas from my mini-blinds. (see 2nd image) However, the quality/heaviness of this fabric is outstanding. It's heavy enough that I have no fear that the grommets will tear out from regular use. This is relevant because, yes, I used a heavier curtain in my bedroom every night for 8 years, and am now going to make a new grommet band for that, using grommets I found from the jungle. [*returning to my current redecorating project....*] I'd already received a new 8-grommet (ea) blackout set for the smaller LR window (from the jungle), but couldn't find a matching 12-grommet set anywhere for the bay window. The existing curtain might be described as "fawn" or "honeyed tan;" I'd been attracted to its yellow undertones. This curtain is a very reasonable match; it looks a little lighter in strong daylight, but identical in overcast (see 1st image) or pm conditions. No one would know they're different unless I told them. This curtain has a lovely, soft rayon-like drape in a (surprise!) twill weave. If you wanted to add a lining for true blackout results, attach a dense but soft fabric just below the grommets. Or buy a second version in a light color and thread this 2-layer combo on a heavy duty rod (especially if you have HOA issues about window reveals). I wanted blackout curtains, and these work great! (refer to the picture). The quality feels good -- not flimsy at all. I just hung them to get the creases out, and that seems to work well. Fabulous drapes of very high quality! A “10” for the product itself. However, your INSTALLATION pricing policy for curtains/drapes is unacceptable. Currently, a customer who purchases drapes must pay a separate Installation charge PER PANEL! That is absurd. Please price your curtain/ drape Installation either “per window” , or at least include TWO (2) panels in the Installation charge, with a reasonable add-on fee per panel (3 or more) for the same window.
