When Carl was out traveling Karin found time to, in secrecy, create this beautiful weaving that was filled with loving symbols. She made it thinly woven and double-sided to allow the sunlight to come through and eye contact between the spouses from their separate bedrooms.

Union is an all-over motif inspired by design on the “Jeunesse Franco-Allemande” ceramic platter made by Jean Cocteau in 1963.
