They were easy to assemble, but it would be much easier with a helper…I assembled them by myself. Some of the pieces have to be held awkwardly when inserting the screws and bolts. My only issue was one of the “bolts and screws” packages tore open prior to opening the box, and those items fell everywhere. I luckily found each one, which was a big deal since there were no extras. This chair fits perfectly in with my other Adirondack chairs surrounding our firepit. We replaced it with one that was wearing down and this one is much better. I really like that it has cup holders on both sides so no worrying about where to sets your drinks down. It’s made well and no splinters when sitting down! The only reason why I didn’t give this a 5 star rating is that when putting it together not all the holes were pre-drilled. Once put together this is a nice chair and it can hold just about anyone.. I live near the ocean, and the salt air can be incredibly hard on outdoor furniture. I've had benches in the past that started rusting or showing wear much sooner than I expected, so I specifically wanted something that would hold up better. The size is just right for my porch. At 40 inches wide and 15 inches deep, it provides comfortable seating for two people without taking up too much room. I chose the brown color, which blends nicely with my home and gives the porch a neat, welcoming appearance. I like how useful it is every day. It's a comfortable place to sit for a few minutes and enjoy the outdoors, but it also works well as a spot for delivery drivers to leave packages, so they aren't sitting directly on the ground. VERY comfortable and great quality. The front edge of the seat is a little sharp but my wife is only 5’2”. At 5’7” I have no problems. Nice and sturdy but if you plan to move it around frequently it is a giant pain because it is very heavy and the arms and back move easily. That’s kind of the nature of it though so it’s to be expected. I recommend even just a thin cushion to be the Cadillac of Adirondack chairs. Definitely would purchase again. Lauren. Nashua, NH.
