This was a breeze to apply. Simply shook the container to mix the contents and then applied with a paint roller. Avoided work during direct sunlight hours. Re-applied until the container was empty. Considered America's first decorator, Elsie de Wolfe started decorating in 1905 and built an impressive career as a trusted tastemaker, surrounding herself with beauty and paving the way for generations to come. Named after this legendary woman, our iconic Scalamandré fern print celebrates her love of leafy botanicals, featuring various layered ferns and romanticized roots on top of a solid ground. Tasteful whimsy mixed with exotic components result in designs that will be remembered, and are important elements present in Elsie de Wolfe's aesthetic. This Scalamandré classic, now reimagined as a wallcovering, is also available in an extensive range of lively colorways and is printed on a non-woven paper ground.

Flowers were an interest Karin and Carl had in common. Karin liked to grow flowers, and the flowers triggered Carl’s desire to paint. They always had seasonal flowers in bouquets indoors, and Karin arranged all the flowers seen in Carl’s paintings.

Turkey Red/Lime Fern

Palampores, or "Tree of Life" patterns, have their origins in India, where the exotic designs were hand painted and mordant dyed, and exported to Europe and England for use as elaborate bed hangings and curtains. Pondicherry, now offered as a wallcovering, the colorways remain true to their 90's origins, highlighting the iconic filigree pattern amidst the exotic tree of life motif. The colorways were developed in 2015, with the filigree omitted from the fabric design. These wallcoverings and colorways remain true to the fabric's original design. Intricately detailed flowers and lush foliage accompanied by whimsical birds and playful squirrels add to its timeless appeal. The vertically branching print is perfect for a cozy breakfast nook, kitchen, or powder room.

Pewter

The Milanese Armor that inspired our Milan Diamond Grasscloth and Appliqué Tape is a unique example of Italian armor made with German influences. Created around 1510, this rare example with fluted surfaces in German fashion is etched with Christian symbolism and references to the Bible, including images of the Virgin and Child and saints Paul and George as well as Latin inscriptions. The armor is adorned with richly gilt ornamentation that we’ve emulated in our products, which will add charm to any room they’re featured in. This wallcovering is made of laser-cut metallic cork appliquéd on grasscloth. The mix of materials in this textile creates an interesting texture that is both eye-catching and understated. This captivating collection, created in collaboration with The Met, draws on artworks and objects from across nine of The Met’s 17 curatorial departments to create a rich mosaic of historical narratives. Each design is a celebration of artisanship, inspired by exquisite forms and cultural traditions.
