My flooring installation experience includes several houses with either solid wood, various laminates and engineered floors. Overall, I liked the general quality of the 7-ply engineered flooring with the 2 mm hickory layer. The boxes arrived in good condition and all the planks in good shape. I left the flooring in the intended room for about a month and the flooring went down easily with a hand nailer. I noted some warpage and when resawing some of the planks for trim found some internal moisture in the layers. The satin finish looks nice (se attached photos, though seems to be inadequate for any real traffic, so I am recoating with 2-3 more layers of polyeurathane – see one small plank for comparison in the wood-tile interface photo.
