The bookcase was fairly easy to put together, though it probably would have gone faster if my dog Unni had not been trying to “help” during assembly. It ended up being a little smaller than I originally expected, but that was on me for not checking the dimensions closely enough before ordering. In the end, it worked out well as a compact bookshelf for the bedroom. One of my favorite features is the built in lighting. The brightness is adjustable, which makes it great for softer nighttime lighting. I personally don’t use the touch slider controls very often because it also comes with a remote, which is honestly really convenient since I can adjust the lights without getting out of bed. Overall, it’s a nice looking shelf with a modern feel and works well for smaller spaces. That said, it made me realize I’ll probably still need to find a larger bookshelf for my living room.. Trisha. I wasn't sure at first that these would work because the tongue that fits under the books is quite thin, but they hold up the books perfectly. They don't have any felt feet, and there is a join at the bottom that isn't flat, so I worried they might scratch the shelves, but the bottom feels smooth and the bookends don't move, so, so far so good. The design is adorable, and I enjoy noticing the little cat faces, which isn't often, since my bookcase is painted black. They might work better on a paler bookcase. Only four stars because the black finish has already chipped off of one in one small but noticeable spot, and because I think the lack of felt feet and the exposed join point might be a problem for some, or over time..
